If you are shipping with Pall-EX, you are required to specify the size of your consignments in pallets, or part pallets. There are a couple of ways to tackle this using Shiptheory, as documented below.

Using Automatic Shipping Rules

When creating Shipping Rules for orders you are dispatching with Pall-Ex, the format you select will be used to tell Pall-Ex if the consignment uses full pallets, mega full pallets, quarter pallets, half pallets and so forth.

The number of boxes on your order in Shiptheory will be used to tell Pall-Ex how many of the format are on the consignment.

For example, if your automatic shipping rule is set to Full Pallet and your order in Shiptheory has 3 boxes, Pall-Ex will be told your order consists of 3 full pallets.

Selecting Pallet Sizes

If you require more flexibility when creating Pall-Ex consignments, you can use Package Sizes in Shiptheory. Following the steps outlined below.

  1. Create a Shipping Rule with Palletways selected as the courier. Leave the delivery service blank. When orders are downloaded into Shiptheory that match this rule, they will show in the Waiting to Ship tab on the shipment dashboard.

  2. You need to create custom package sizes in your Shiptheory account here. The dimensions do not matter, however, the names must be one or many of the following: Full Pallet, Light Pallet, Half Pallet, Quarter Pallet, Mini Quarter Pallet, Megafull Pallet, P7 or P8. If you set-up the first three of these package sizes, you should see something similar to the screenshot below.

  3. You are now ready to ship. Get some orders downloaded into your Shiptheory account and from the Waiting to Ship tab, select the orders you are ready to dispatch with Pall-Ex. Click Create Labels from the drop down menu at the bottom left of the shipments grid.

  4. You will then see a popup window that allows you to set the exact number of each type of pallet along with the weight of each pallet/part pallet, as shown below.
