How to find the advanced options

We realise that having so many different options, whilst useful, can be confusing and daunting and as such we have hidden quite a few of the more advanced options.

We have placed the advanced option icon in the same place on every page that has these extra options, you'll find it at the bottom of the page on the left hand side. It's a small silver cog.

If you're unsure of any settings you find in the advanced sections, it is always best to leave them and just ask us

Advanced options

ORDER STATUSES

Status to Receive Orders: By default, Shiptheory will receive orders from WooCommerce on the Processing status. You can change that status to something else, such as Pending, Completed or any other status you have. This might be helpful if you have another status you'd like Shiptheory to process orders at rather than  Processing, this could be helpful if you use Processing for something else in your workflow and Shiptheory would be best used later on in the process.

Status to Complete Orders: By default, Shiptheory will set shipped orders in WooCommerce to the Completed status. You can change that status to something else, or leave this blank and Shiptheory won't change anything. You might want to use this if perhaps there's something you need to do to orders just before you complete them so you could set this to another status you have and save the Completed status for when you're entirely ready to ship the item.

SHIPMENT METHODS

All configured shipment methods in WooCommerce are downloaded to Shiptheory and once your WooCommerce settings are saved and configured these will be appear in the 'Shipping Method' drop-down menu on the creation page for Shipping rules. This is very handy if you plan to use shipping methods in your rules, rather than having to type out the method word for word you can just select it from a drop down menu which makes it a lot quicker and simpler to create and edit rules.

If you make any changes to your shipping methods in WooCommerce, you can refresh the shipping methods in Shiptheory by clicking 'the blue refresh shipping methods' button as shown in the image below.

CUSTOMS INFORMATION

You can setup custom attributes for your products in WooCommerce and some of these fields may contain your products customs information, if you enter the name of that attribute into the corresponding filed shown in the image below, we'll retrieve your products commodity information from that field in WooCommerce. Commodity data is essentially the customs information so it's important you link these fields up if you ship internationally.

It's important that all your products share the same custom attribute for each part of their commodity data as we will only retrieve the information from the one field you specify

Store URL

This field will contain the URL of the WooCommerce store currently connected to Shiptheory.
