Overview

Shiptheory offers multiple options to get the value of your shipment from Shopify. You can configure this in your Shopify integration advanced settings under the "Shipment Value Source" section:

Options Explained

All options include taxes and are in the the Shopify store's currency, not the currency presented to the customer at checkout.

Sum of product values

When using this option Shiptheory will add up all of the values of the products listed on the item lines of the order/fulfillment in Shopify. This includes any line item level discounts, but does not include discounts applied to the whole order.

Value of the order

This is the value which Shopify tells Shiptheory that it thinks the order is worth. This is generally equivalent to the sum paid for the order by the customer, but this is not always the case. In instances where you use currency conversion the value of the order Shopify gives to Shiptheory does not always match the value charged to the customer. This value includes item level discounts and order level discounts.

Total paid by customer

This is the value that the customer paid for the shipment. Generally this will be the same as "value of the order", but in instances where currency conversion is used then this value may differ. This value is what you see when you inspect your order/fulfillment in Shopify. If your order comes into Shiptheory and the customer has not yet paid for the shipment then the shipment value will fall back to "value of the order"
