Shiptheory Print Client

If you’re new to automatic printing with Shiptheory and haven’t set up the Shiptheory Print Client yet, please follow the guides linked below. The Shiptheory Print Client is essential for connecting Shiptheory directly to your printers. It enables automatic printing or provides the option to print to a specific printer of your choice.

1. Automatic Printing via Shipping Rules

You can assign specific printers to your shipping rules, enabling labels to be printed automatically based on the defined criteria. This integrates seamlessly into your existing automated shipping workflow if you already have shipping rules configured.

Note: The printer selected in a shipping rule will always take priority over an automatic printer assigned per carrier.

2. Carrier Based Automatic Printing

This setup allows labels to be automatically printed to a specific printer based on the assigned carrier. For example, you can designate one printer for Royal Mail orders and a different printer for DPD orders.

This would be a good choice if you want a simple way to assign different printers to different carriers.

3. Sales Channel User-Specific Printing

This feature enables you to assign a user from a supported sales channel to a specific automatic printer. Once a shipment is booked with a courier, if it matches one of your user-specific mappings, the label will automatically print to the designated printer.

The below sales channels support unique user-specific printing:

  • Brightpearl
  • Magento 2
  • Adobe Commerce

4. Default Printer Specific to a Shiptheory User

Note: This will only specify a printer to automatically print the label to if the order is booked in through the Shiptheory dashboard manually.

This assigns a printer to automatically print the label after booking a shipment through the Shiptheory Dashboard. This setting will override any channel-specific printer configuration rules.
