Shiptheory supports the manual printing of labels directly within the dashboard rather than needing to download the shipping label as a PDF to print the label out.
This means when a new shipment is created, you will have the option to send the label directly to a specific printer that you have configured.
Print Client Setup
To print manually within Shiptheory, you'll need to download and install the Shiptheory Print Client. You will want to do this on the computer that is connected to the printer. This allows Shiptheory to connect directly with your printers, skipping the need to download a PDF of your labels.

Once installed, it will run in the background of that computer, serving as a connection between your Shiptheory account and your printers. After this step, the rest of the setup takes place within the Shiptheory Dashboard.
Adding Your Printers to Shiptheory
Once you have installed the Shiptheory Print Client, you will need to add your printer to the list of selectable printers to choose from when you go to manually print a shipping label. This is done within the Shiptheory Printing Configuration Menu.
After you've navigated to this page, you'll want to scroll down on the website until you find the 'Available Printers For Manually Printing' Section.
Selecting the printers you'd like to add to Shiptheory:
- Click on the blue arrow to find a list of your printers.
- Add the printer you'd like to use for manual printing.
- Press the blue 'Save' button.
Once this process has been completed, you'll be ready to manually print shipping labels from within the dashboard.
How to Manually Print a Shipping Label
- Locate the order you would like to print a label for (Note: The order will need to have the completed status).
- Place the mouse cursor over any part of the order within the dashboard.
- Right-click the order to open the menu.
- Place the mouse cursor on 'Print Label'.
- Finally, select the printer you want the shipping label to come out from. The printers shown here will be the printers you added in the previous configuration page.
