To begin shipping with Maersk you will first need to obtain a customer code from Maersk. To do this, you need to create an account on Maersk. Once you have created an account, check the settings for a customer code. This is the customer code we need to begin setting up your Maersk integration. We also need to know the destination countries you want to ship to in order to set up your Maersk Integration. Please select the countries from the dropdown. 


After we have received these details we can begin to setup your Maersk integration. Your application will be moved into a processing state. Please wait until you receive an email from Shiptheory support before using Maersk as a carrier. 


Once you receive an email from Shiptheory support saying that your Maersk customer app has been setup it, we can help you to begin shipping with Maersk. You will be able to see your customer code, customer key and customer secret key.



There are some settings which you can add to help with your Maersk integration. 


Default Parcel Dimensions

If you are not using Shiptheory packages in your shipments, you will need to specify the default dimensions of the parcels you want to send.


Automatically Trim Long Shipping Data

If you want to trim data that could be too long then you can enable the setting here. Be warned, Shiptheory will not take responsibility for any important data loss.



Auto-detect the Recipient Address Type

You need to specify whether the recipient address is a residential address. By default we will automatically detect whether it is a residential or a business address, however you can change this is to business addresses only or residential addresses only. 


Tracking Number Type

Here you can choose whether or not to return the Maersk tracking number, or the Sub-carrier tracking number. If you select the sub-carrier tracking number and there isn't a sub-carrier tracking number then we will send you back the Maersk tracking number. 

Default Currency

Here you can select your default currency. We will use this value if there isn't a currency specified in the shipment

Specify a return address

If you do not specify a return address, we will automatically use your sender address as a return address. If you want a dedicated return address, please enter the address details for this here.



Collection Cut Off Time

If you have collection cut off times at your warehoues/depot then please enter these details here. Maersk needs to have an expected shipping date. Any shipments that are booked after the collection cut off will have their expected shipment date increased by a day. You can also select whether or not you support warehouse/depot collections on weekends. Please tick the days that you support these collections.
