Shiptheory communicates with Despatch Bay using the Despatch Bay Pro API. You need to enter your Despatch Bay Pro API Username and API Key on the Despatch Bay settings page within your Shiptheory account. Your API Username is different to the username you use to log into Despatch Bay. If you need help getting setup, follow the instructions below.


1. Create a Despatch Bay Pro account


If you do not already have an account on Despatch Bay Pro, create one for free here.


2. Generate an API Key Set


A. Select API Settings from the menu available within your Despatch Bay Pro account, as shown below.



B. Type Shiptheory in the reference field under Generate A New Keyset and press Generate.



C. The page will reload and you will be given a API Username and API Key.


Copy and paste the API Username and API Key values into the corresponding fields within your Shiptheory account and click the blue Save button. Despatch Bay is now connected to your Shiptheory account.
